Required Textbooks
  • For CVEN 444, the following are required:
    1. Reinforced Concrete - Mechanics and Design, J. MacGregor and J. Wight, 4th Edition, Prentice Hall.
    2. Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318-05) and Commentary (ACI 318-R-05), American Concrete Institute.
Note: ACI 318 can be purchased from the MSC bookstore for a discounted rate.
  • For CVEN 483, the following is required:
    1. International Building Code 2003, International Code Council, Inc., 2003.
Additional Program Information

This summer you can earn TAMU Civil Engineering credit in Cuidad Real, Spain. Study engineering and industrial practice at the nearby Don Quijote Airport. Learn engineering and commercial Spanish. Spend a week in Toledo immersed in Spanish culture.

Eligibility
All engineering majors with a 2.5 minimum GPR and in good standing with TAMU are eligible. Other majors are considered by application.
Foreign Language Requirement

None! All courses are taught in English by TAMU Faculty.

Cost of Program
  • $4,500 *

    *cost includes lodging, transportation, cultural & technical visits.
    *cost does not include meals, airfare, tuition, fees, books and spending money.

Scholarships
Through the generosity of corporations and individuals, the College of Engineering is pleased to offer scholarships to students going abroad. The scholarships are competitive and you will be required to fill out a scholarship application form.

The Study Abroad Office also offers scholarships. The first scholarship is a Student Academic Fund (SAF) – need based. The second is an International Education Fund Scholarship (IEFS) – merit based.
